CGMiner is an open source ASIC/FPGA miner written in C, cross platform for Linux, Windows and OS X, and including support and binaries for RPi, OpenWrt routers and others.
CGMiner is arguably the most famous and commonly used among Bitcoin miners at the moment.
CGMiner is based on the original code of CPU Miner.

- self-detection of new blocks with a mini database
